Back to School Shopping Tips

No Need for TRENDY Styles

You get what you pay for, if you need quality you must pay for it. Don't give into your kid wanting a Pokemon lunchbox because Pokemon Go! was a summer hit.

Back to School Sales

Hit up back to school sales...even if it is for NEXT year! Buy a size bigger if you have to.

Stick to the list

Teachers provide supply lists for a reason. Don't overbuy.

Supermarket Sales

Sometimes the major stores and local pharmacies may be sold out on marble notebooks. Check our your local supermarket or check weekly circulars - supermarkets tend to have decent back to school sales.

Check Home Supply BEFORE You Buy

Last year you didn't get to check this post, so you may have overbought some supplies. Check to see what you have in your house before your buy every single Book Sock color.

Swap it OUT!

Have you thought about calling other parents to see what supplies they would like to swap out? Maybe you know a parent that had your child's current teacher already and they might have the required summer reading book that you can't find in the library.

Plan Lunch Meals

You know what your child eats. Lucky enough, OLLCA plans out the meals a month in advance. Have your child circle what he or she likes and choose healthy meal options here that they can make themselves. Encourage responsibility. If they forget, teach them accountability.

Bright Colors are Found Easily

Buy bright colors for bags, pencil cases, and jackets! In messy rooms or crowded places you will always find bright colors.

Straight to the Clearance Rack!

Old Navy, Gap Kids, and The Children's Place constantly have clearance racks. Sign up for email reminders to notify you of sales or markdowns. .
