Meet the Officers 

President - Elizabeth Lallave

Time Commitment: 8-12 hours per month, varies

Busiest Times of Year: beginning of the year but flattens out; additional special projects

1.       Manage overall objectives and strategies of HAA (including fundraising objectives, community building events, educational events, etc.)

2.       Act as liaison between parents and principal / staff

3.       Recruit HAA Committee Members

4.       Create agenda and facilitate HAA/STATE OF ACADEMY meetings 

5.       Update HAA Website/Facebook page

6.       Collaborate with Principal to create annual school calendar

7.       Collaborate with Treasurer to create annual HAA budget

8.       Speak at HAA Meeting and other events as needed

Vice President - Elio Garcia

Time Commitment: 3-6 hours per month, busiest time is Back-to-School, varies ongoing

1.       Assume responsibilities when President is not present

2.       Collaborate with the President to prepare volunteer position descriptions to recruit volunteers

3.       Coordinate with the President to prepare and post volunteer sign-up sheets

4.       Confirm volunteer attendance at events

5.       Maintain a database of volunteer attendance and provide these to board members and chairs as needed

6.       Recruit potential volunteers and advise them of the necessary Virtus Training

7.       Facilitate volunteer training events; ensure that volunteers complete mandatory paperwork

8.       Act as liaison with school secretary for OLLCA/ student volunteers

9.       Speak at HAA Meeting and other events when needed

Secretary - Deborah Sanchez

Time Commitment: 2-3 hours per month, busiest following each HAA meeting

1.       Assume responsibilities when Vice President is not present

2.       Take minutes at HAA meetings, type minutes, and distribute them in a timely fashion

3.       Make copies of minutes from the last general meeting for distribution (and approval) for general meetings

4.       Submit approved minutes for inclusion on website

5.       Attend meetings, participate in discussions and decision-making, take minutes for preparation and distribution to the other officers

6.       Prepare the sign-in sheet and arrange the room for the general meetings

7.       Maintain a complete file of all approved minutes, agendas, attendance sheets, and materials distributed at any official HAA meeting

8.       Manage/oversee the nominating process of new members, submit nomination form/flyer to principal/staff for distribution prior to the May State of Academy meeting, and remain available to assist them at their request

9.       Develop and send flyers for distribution to officers and staff as needed

Treasurer - Dominique Pastrana

Time Commitment: 4-6 hours per month, including attending HAA meetings

Busiest Times of Year: Ongoing, some summer work preparing budget for Fall

1.       Assume responsibilities when Secretary is not present

2.       Collaborate with the HAA President to generate the annual HAA budget

3.       Prepare the annual audit reflecting expenses and credits to the account

4.       Submit receipts and request reimbursements as needed (in behalf of officers/volunteers)

5.       Oversee ongoing HAA finances, ensure adherence to approved HAA budget

6.       Prepare and present budget report for each HAA meeting

7.       Record deposits that come in to OLLCA HAA

8.       Send donor acknowledgement letters
